Seceratary Robert Kennedy said, "[children with autism] will never pay taxes, they’ll never hold a job, they’ll never play baseball, they’ll never write a poem, they’ll never go on a date, many of them will never use a toilet unassisted.” and there are now propsals for creating an autism registry for "research" purposes. Unfortunately I think Kennedy's brainworm ate the part of his brain that accounts for common sense and empathy. His statements are so false and misguided, he only seems to have a hatred towards people autism for absolutely no reason. The NIH is now creating new studies about autism which seem like the goal is to target and undermine all the current research and resources for people with autism. Not only is he undermining scientific institutions, he's stepping on people's rights both of which are terrible for everyone in the country. I hope all the effort people have done when it comes to awarness, advocacy, and resources can continue despite the pushback from the federal government.

Robert Kennedy’s statement is not only deeply offensive but also blatantly false, ignoring the vast diversity and capabilities of autistic individuals. His support for an autism registry under the guise of “research” raises serious ethical concerns, particularly around privacy and the potential for discrimination. Efforts like these undermine decades of advocacy and progress toward inclusion and acceptance. It’s crucial that we continue to uplift neurodivergent voices and protect the rights and dignity of all people with autism.
