Self-Intro

Hi, I'm Rachel and I am pre-vet here at Bryn Mawr- bio major, NBS concentration. This is my 3rd class with Anne and Paul is my major advisor, so I guess I'm interested to see how the class flows between both of them. I also really like posting my papers and class thoughts on serendip and I am a big fan of mixing different medias in my papers, so I am glad to be back using it. As I said in class I never really learned about evolution; I learned about the historical figures central to it in history classes but I never quite made it to evolution itself.

Introducing Anne and her Relationship to the Technology of Time

So, I'll kick off the introductions. I'm Anne; you can find out more about my academic interests on my college homepage; on the personal side, I'm a Quaker in a secular culture; a 4x mom (and just this fall a 2x mother-in-law, and this spring upcoming: a GRANDMOTHER!!!) here amongst 20-somethings; a commuter from midtown Philly who lives a good deal of the time on a farm in Virginia (when I'm not living in some fictional world or another, which is where I actually spend most of my time).

Introduction

Hello! This is Kathryn speaking. I am a freshman, only a newcomer I'm afraid. I'm not quite sure what exactly I want to focus on during my time here, but I believe that I may be leaning towards an English based major... of some sort. Perhaps with a concentration in Creative writing. I am a huge fan of reading and writing, especially fantasy. Actually, I love fantasy of all sorts.  I am a compulsive pursuer of the strange, the unusual and wonky. I enjoy mysteries, and twisting my mind around them; I hope that this course will by as fascinating as it seems it will be.

Introduction

I'm Emily and I'm a junior at Haverford. I'm a psychology major with a concentration in neural and behavioral sciences. I'm also pre-med, so I have taken many science classes. This is my first English class while at college. The fact that it is cross-listed in biology sparked my interest while searching for classes because I'm a very science-oriented person. However, I'm still excited for the English component of the class because I feel I will be able to learn and analyze information in a completely different way than is used for natural science or psychology. I'm particularly interested in development, both in terms of psychology and biology, and I hope this class will provide further insight into this topic from a new perspective.

A Little About Me

Hi my name is Namratha and i'm a sophomore at Bryn Mawr. I'm a political science and economics double major with a minor in international relations with a concentration in peace and conflict studies. My larger goals in life are to pursue international human rights law and possibly writing. I also love dancing (indian classical), music, and russian literature. On campus I'm part of SAW (south asian women) and the pre-law society. What I'm looking forward to in this class is using nontraditional mediums in an academic environment. I hope that I can participate in some meaningful discussions and learn to see things from a different perspective!

Introduction!

Hi there! My name's Brenna and I'm a sophomore at Bryn Mawr. I just transferred here this past fall so I'm still a bit of a newbie, but I've really loved it so far. I'm planning on pursuing elementary certification for teaching through Swarthmore and I'm leaning towards anthropology for a major. I've always really loved to write but science classes have never really been my strong suit. Movies and music are both extremely important to me and I love trying new foods and dreaming of traveling. I look forward to our class discussions!

Hi Everyone!

Hello to all, my name is Kristin and I am a Continuing Education Student.  I graduated from Bryn Mawr a number of years ago (yes, I'm being vague here ;-) with a major in philosophy and a minor in math.  I then promptly moved to LA and became a Page on the "Price is Right," then a personal assistant to a comedian/talk show host, then worked my way up the corporate ladder at CBS to an executive position.  After many years in that field and in that environment, I find that my interests, my focus and what I find to be meaningful in life has changed.  I want to do something more purposeful and challenging with my life... so I've decided to go to Med School.
